2. Darrion Williams

While this seems unlikely, as Kansas, BYU, and others are the favorites, there is no reason that Pat Kelsey shouldn't reach out to the 5-star transfer Darrion Williams. The Texas Tech transfer earned All-Big 12 First-Team after his impressive junior season with the Red Raiders.

The 6-foot-6 power forward is ranked as high as the No. 6 best player to enter the portal and the unanimous third-best player available. He is a unanimous top-seven player in the portal, and a glaring reason is his tremendous March Madness run.

Louisville needs someone with NCAA Tournament experience, and Williams is their perfect guy. He was a key piece for Texas Tech in their 2025 Elite Eight run, as he averaged 22.3 points per game, including his season-high 28-point performance against Drake in the round of 32.

He averaged 15.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 43.9 percent from the floor and 34.0 percent from beyond the arc. He scored 20 points or more in 12 games last season, including his final three games in the NCAA Tournament.

This elite scoring power forward would cause the Cardinals to run a small lineup, but Kelsey ran that last season, and he would have height and elite players coming off the bench. This is a stretch, but Louisville's offense will be unstoppable if the Cardinals can contact Williams and land this elite playmaker.
