1. Jamir Watkins
Early on, the Cardinals were reported to be one of the top contenders for the 5-star transfer Jamir Watkins. The Florida State transfer is ranked as a 5-star recruit, the No. 7 player overall, and the No. 2 small forward to enter the portal.
Jeff Goodman reported that Louisville, Kentucky, and Illinois were the three early favorites to land this highly-recruited transfer. The Cardinals could use a player with elite scoring ability after losing James Scott. The 6-foot-7 forward would play some valuable small forward and power forward minutes and shift the Cardinals' starting lineup around.
With Pryor returning, it will be interesting to see what type of players Kelsey targets, but if Louisville can land this unanimous top-10 transfer, he will emerge as the Cardinals' most significant addition this offseason.
Scott was an elite rim protector and dunker, and while Watkins isn't exactly that, he is more. He would bring elite playmaking and scoring, and he is highly athletic. Last season for the Seminoles, he averaged 18.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists while also being reliable on the defensive side and earning 1.2 steals per game.
He earned a spot on the All-ACC Second Team, shooting 42 percent from the field and 32 percent from downtown. He earned an impressive resume last season, scoring 20 points or more in 12 games, 25 points or more in five games, and his season-high 30-point performance against Rice.
