Louisville football fans learned earlier this afternoon that Kris Hughes will enter the Transfer Portal. The Cards have now lost nine scholarship players to the portal, and with over 1300 players in the portal already, the Cards will have to try to add some depth to their wide receiver room.

Louisville will lose Chris Bell, Caullin Lacy, Dacari Collins, Hughes, and others after this 2025 season. They learned Nate Kurisky will also enter the portal, making the outside a glaring area of need. Hughes is coming off his best season with Louisville after spending three years with the Cardinals.

So, now with this wide receiver room getting even thinner, we are going to list five win-now players Louisville football must target after Kris  Hughes entered the portal.

5. Terrell Anderson

This may be a reach, but Louisville is familiar with North Carolina State transfer Terrell Anderson. In his sophomore year, Anderson posted 39 catches for 629 yards and five touchdowns, a significant jump from his freshman totals of 14 catches, 158 yards, and one touchdown. Poised to be a top outside threat, he would fit well at Louisville.

He ranks as the fourth-best wide receiver in the Transfer Portal, and the No. 22 best transfer overall, according to On3 Sports rankings. Louisville is in contact with some of the best QBs in the portal, and with Anderson wanting to get more attention and be a WR1, Jeff Brohm’s offense emerges as an excellent fit.

At 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, Anderson would pair nicely with TreyShun Hurry. It will be a hard get for Louisville with him ranked so high, but if he wants to stay in the ACC and compete next year, Louisville should reach out to this star WR.
