Chiles was a former 4-star recruit out of high school and is now a 3-star transfer, per 247 Sports. He was ranked No. 58 overall and No. 7 QB in the 2023 class, and is now the No. 14 player in the portal and the No. 5 QB after his two seasons with the Spartans. Starting out at Oregon State, he transferred to Michigan State, where he started all 12 games in 2024 and was named a captain in 2025.
The Michigan State transfer threw 3,807 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions in his two seasons with the Spartans, while completing nearly 61 percent of his passes. He is a dual-threat quarterback who has also rushed 195 times for 531 yards and 12 touchdowns. He is a target of multiple Power Four programs, but with his high ceiling and possibly reasonable price, he is a target Louisville should pursue for next season.
