4. Antonio Watts, LB

Antonio Watts is another defender who has taken a significant step forward in 2025. The junior has shown a knack for timely, game-changing plays, recording three interceptions (two in ACC play), two forced fumbles, and a recovery.

His 80.7 PFF grade marks the best season of his Louisville career and underscores how vital he’s become. With Stanquan Clark going down in Week 2, Watts stepped up and quickly filled in. His 42 total tackles rank No. 6 on the team, and his three interceptions, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and three pass deflections all rank as career highs.

With the NFL potentially calling, convincing Watts to stay is key. Pairing him with Capers for one more season would give the Cardinals a strong, experienced linebacker duo to build around. Depth and stability at linebacker can elevate the entire defense, especially with so many unknowns elsewhere. If Brohm wants to rebuild from the inside out, keeping Watts is non-negotiable.
