The College Football offseason is quickly approaching, and the chaos has officially begun. The Transfer Portal is in full swing right now as players are declaring for the portal left and right. In the madness of the coaching carousel, players are officially entering the portal, and some names are even bigger than many imagined.

Today, the quarterback position has seen elite players enter the portal. With Louisville football losing backup Brady Allen to the portal earlier and starting QB Miller Moss to eligibility, today made Jeff Brohm’s decision easy: he has to go the portal route for his next star quarterback.

Jeff Brohm must go after a QB after wild day in the Transfer Portal

This is going to be a hot topic for many Louisville fans, who want to give the keys to redshirt freshman Deuce Adams and incoming freshman Briggs Cherry, but after today, Brohm has to go to the Portal once again. The names that have entered the portal just today are shocking, with the latest being Nebraska star Dylan Raiola.

The Cardinals are in desperate need of an experienced quarterback, and with Florida’s DJ Lagway, Michigan State’s Aidan Chiles, Cincinnati’s Brendan Sorsby, and now Raiola all entering the portal just today, Brohm has to go and find that star from the portal.

Stars like that entering the portal, Louisville should get an easier route to attack those 4-star QBs like Colton Joseph from Old Dominion. Louisville fans want a quarterback who will start for more than just one season, and they don’t want to throw all their NIL money at one player. So, with these big-time stars entering the portal, hopefully LSU, Indiana, Florida, and others attack Lagway and Raiola, leaving Louisville an easier path for players like Joseph and Kenny Minchey.

Many Cards fans want to try and let Adams develop, but today made Brohm's decision easy to try and go get a big-name from the portal. Louisville has plenty of choices to choose from, and while this might be a hot-topic for Louisville fans, the Cards should try and get their starting quarterback for next season from the Transfer Portal for the fourth straight season.

January will be a fun time for college football fans, and Louisville fans should be all-in on the portal and the players entering. The Cards have lost three players to the portal so far, with the latest being backup QB Brady Allen.
