ACC 2024 football Power Rankings: Where did Louisville finish & who was No. 1?

Louisville football Spring game is set to take place on April 11 in L&N Stadium, but before shifting focus to next season, let's rewind and look to see where each ACC team ended up in the power rankings.

Louisville football has high expectations entering the 2025 season, as the Cardinals schedule favorites UofL to be a real threat in the ACC.

Louisville football has recently added depth to their offensive line as they have signed two guards, Michael Flores and Naeer Jackson. Cardinals biggest acquisition this offseason was transfer quarterback from USC, Miller Moss.

Moss had 2,555 passing yards, with 18 touchdowns and a QBR of 74.4 and was one of the nations best. Moss had a grading score of 90 and four-stars via 247Sports. The Cardinals offense will be one of the best in the country, as Moss, Isaac Brown and Caullin Lacy are going to be a three-headed monster for their opponents.

ACC 2024 football Power Rankings

17. Florida State Seminoles Overall Record: 2-10 | Conference Record: 1-7

Mike Norvell and his Seminoles were ranked No. 10 in the country for preseason rankings and ended up having one of the most disappointing seasons in College Football history. FSU finish 2-10 on the year and 1-7 in ACC play.

16. Stanford Cardinals Overall Record: 3-9 | Conference Record: 2-6

Stanford continued their recent struggles and finished 3-9 on the year and 2-6 in the conference. Cardinal’s shine of light is they did get wins over Louisville and Syracuse who both were ranked in the top 20 at one point of the season.

15. Wake Forest Demon Deacons Overall Record: 4-8 | Conference Record: 2-6

The Demon Deacons picked up two conference wins this season and got a new head coach in Jake Dickert. Wake Forest defeated North Carolina State, Stanford, and Connecticut all by a combine of 10 points. Wake finished the year 4-8 overall and 2-6 in ACC play.

14. Virginia Cavaliers Overall Record: 5-7 | Conference Record: 3-5

Virginia showed some promise this past season as they started 4-1 and defeated Pitt when they were ranked No. 18. Cavaliers dropped seven of their last eight and finished 5-7 and 3-5 in the ACC.

13. North Carolina Tar Heels Overall Record: 6-7 | Conference Record: 3-5

The shocking news of Bill Belichick coaching UNC broke the internet, as he will now look to turn this program around. Tar Heels went 3-5 in the ACC, and lost to Connecticut in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl, 27-14.

12. California Golden Bears Overall Record: 6-7 | Conference Record: 2-6

Cal started their year off strong going 3-0, including a win at Auburn University, however they then dropped four straight, and finished the year 6-7. It was their first season in the ACC, and the Golden Bears travel to Louisville this upcoming season on Nov. 8.

11. NC State Wolfpack Overall Record: 6-7 | Conference Record: 3-5

North Carolina State lost 51-10 to Tennessee early in the season, and 59-35 to Clemson, however they did beat North Carolina to secure a bowl game. Wolfpack ended the year with a loss to ECU in the Go Bowling Military Bowl. They finished 3-5 in the conference.

10. Pittsburgh Panthers Overall Record: 7-6 | Conference Record: 3-5

Well, Pitt was one of the more surprising teams of the country, as they started 7-0, but then lost by 23 to SMU, and had the worst collapse of any College football program. Pitt lost six straight, including their GameAbove Sports Bowl game to Toledo.

9. Virginia Tech Hokies Overall Record: 6-7 | Conference Record: 4-4

Virginia Tech had maybe the toughest loss in the season, when their hail mary was called back and they fell 38-34 to No.7 Miami. Eagles finished below .500, 6-7, and were 4-4 against ACC teams.

8. Boston College Eagles Overall Record: 7-6 | Conference Record: 4-4

Boston College had a huge upset to start the season, or so the nation thought, but they took down Florida State 28-13. They finished 7-6 and 4-4 in the ACC, and lost to Nebraska in the Pinstripe Bowl, 20-15.

7. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Overall Record: 7-6 | Conference Record: 5-3

Georgia Tech had a lot of highs this past season, as they defeated Florida State, 24-21, No. 4 Miami, 28-23 and took their rival Georgia to eight overtimes before they lost 44-42. Yellow Jackets went 5-3 in ACC play and had a 7-6 overall record.

6. Duke Blue Devils Overall Record: 9-4 | Conference Record: 5-3

Duke had a successful season, as they secured nine wins, and had a 5-3 ACC record. Blue Devils lost to Ole Miss in the Gator Bowl.

5. Louisville Cardinals Overall Record: 9-4 | Conference Record: 5-3

Louisville won nine games for their second season straight, and eight wins or more for third consecutive season. Cardinals lost by one possession in every game this year but suffered a bad loss to Stanford late in the season, which eliminated from trying to play in ACC Championship game. UofL did beat No. 11 Clemson, and future 2024 ACC Champions, 33-21.

4. Miami Hurricanes Overall Record: 10-3 | Conference Record: 6-2

Miami was led by future first-round pick, Cam Ward, as they started 9-0, but was squeaking by opponents towards the end of the season. Hurricanes only beat the Cardinals by seven points in a 52-45 shootout, and eventually lost to Georgia Tech, Syracuse and Iowa State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.

3. Syracuse Orange Overall Record: 10-3 | Conference Record: 5-3

Syracuse was led by quarterback transfer Kyle McCord, who led the nation in passing yards. Syracuse had three losses in the ACC, Boston College, Pitt, and Stanford, and two of them they should have won. However, they went 10-3, including their Direct TV Holiday Bowl win, and their win over No. 6 Miami.

2. SMU Mustangs Overall Record: 11-3 | Conference Record: 8-0

In their first season of the ACC, it was nearly perfect.  The Mustangs went 8-0 during regulars against ACC opponents and lost the championship 34-31. Mustangs earned a spot in the College Football Playoffs but lost first round to Penn State.

1. Clemson Tigers Overall Record: 10-4 Conference Record: 7-1

Dabo Swinney picked up his ninth ACC Championship and took his team to the first-ever 12 team College Football Playoffs. Clemson went 7-1 in ACC, as their only loss came to Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals. Tigers lost to Texas in the first round of the playoffs 38-24.
