3. SMU Mustangs
SMU has been on a roll recently, and it continued in its blowout victory against Boston College as they won 45-13. Kevin Jennings demonstrated the explosive power of his arm, throwing for 326 yards and three touchdowns. The Mustangs now have a week off before they try to close out their final two conference bouts without dropping another game.
This won’t be easy, as they face the Louisville Cardinals on Nov. 22 and then California the week after. Louisville will play with nothing to lose, as it must cause chaos to get back into the conference title race. Additionally, California has shown that it is capable of upsets, as it just took down Louisville this past week. SMU might be in a prime position for the postseason, but they must execute effectively in their next two games.
