14. North Carolina Tar Heels

Bill Belichick has now led the Tar Heels to their second straight conference win as they defeated Stanford on Saturday. Defense has been the name of the game for this Tar Heels squad as they had nine sacks Saturday against Stanford and caused two takeaways.

This has been the case all year as North Carolina might not score much, but they don’t let opponents score that much either. The Tar Heels have only allowed 101 points in conference play, which has kept them in games. Belichick’s squad is only one point away from winning three straight, having lost 17-16 to Virginia, which was ranked No. 16 at the time.

The last three of North Carolina’s games are very winnable as they play Wake Forest, Duke, and NC State. If the Tar Heels can continue to ride this wave, they might clinch a bowl game this season.
