No. 3: SMU Mustangs

After starting the season 2-2, SMU has dominated most of its play in the ACC. SMU has lost only to Wake Forest in ACC play and has looked much-improved since the first four weeks of the season.

SMU has won 6 of its last seven games, and if some things go its way, it will no doubt be playing for a spot in the ACC championship in a couple of weeks.

No. 2: Virginia Cavaliers

Tony Elliot and his Virginia Cavaliers have had one of their best seasons in recent memory in 2025. They did not play a game this week, but will look to nail their bid to the ACC championship next week when they play Virginia Tech.

Virginia's only blemish on the season was a loss to Wake Forest and a non-ACC game to NC State earlier in the season.
