No. 9: Virginia Tech Hokies
When examining the rankings of some of these undefeated teams, consider that those ranked lower, despite being undefeated, have not faced any teams that are even remotely competitive. This doesn't apply more than to Virginia Tech.
The Hokies have not played a team that should be considered a competitive match for an ACC team, and even when they played Charlotte last week, they only won by eight points. This was much lower than the 18.5 points they were favored by before the game started.
Tech is on the right track, but they will need to keep playing well to move up in the rankings.
No. 8: Florida State Seminoles
Florida State took No.10 Florida to the wire last week in a very impressive game, even if they did lose in the end, 78-76.
Florida State dominated its early-season games against Alabama State and Alcorn State, while looking to take down the former national champion Florida Gators, too. If the game against Florida was a sign of things to come, then FSU will be a feisty team in the ACC this season.
