Georgia Tech couldn't escape the Wolfpack this weekend as the Yellow Jackets lost their first game of the regular season 48-36. The Yellow Jackets' defense struggled throughout the game, giving up 10 points or more in every quarter, and 340 yards through the air, as well as 243 yards on the ground. Georgia Tech sits 8-1 on the season and 5-1 in the ACC. With Pitt and Georgia still on their schedule, the Yellow Jackets' season could end on an incredibly high note or an incredibly low note.
Virginia continues to find ways to win. The Cavaliers are coming off two close wins over Western Kentucky and North Carolina, and just defeated Cal in a 31-21 victory. The Cavaliers were up 24-14 in the fourth quarter, but a touchdown to start the game from Cal gave the Golden Bears life. Virginia turned the ball over on downs with 43 seconds remaining, giving Cal a glimpse of hope. However, Virginia's defense steps up and prevails for the Cavaliers as they picked Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele off on the first play and returned it for a touchdown. UVA remains undefeated in conference play, improving to 8-1 on the season. The Cavaliers have a game against Wake Forest this weekend and then travel to Duke on November 15, before hosting Virginia Tech to conclude the season.
