No. 16: Pitt Panthers
Pitt basketball had one of its better conference weeks last week, where it took down Cal on the road by double digits, and even played Stanford close down the stretch, too. Jeff Capel's squad has had a very tough season, and while things have not gone well for Pitt since November, they can at least hang on to this win over a tournament bubble team in Cal.
Jeff Capel is entering year eight at Pitt, and he could be headed out the door after this disastrous season for Pitt.
No. 15: Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Notre Dame has had it rough this season, but came away with an impressive overtime win against NC State this past week. Even though Notre Dame took one of their biggest losses in school history to Duke earlier this week by 44, the Irish seemed to bounce back, and are looking to try and overtake Pitt to make the ACC tournament this season.
Notre Dame has continued to struggle mightily in ACC play, but maybe this win over NC State can spark something in them to win another game to take the 15 seed over Pitt heading into the last week of the season.
