No. 8 North Carolina State Wolfpack

NC State and SMU struggled mightily this week, but their resumes still stand as one of the better ones in the ACC, even if they both had two-loss weeks. After beating North Carolina by 24 a few games ago, North Carolina State has dropped three in a row to Duke, Virginia, and a bad Notre Dame team.

The Wolfpack lost by a combined 58 points to Duke and Virginia and then laid a complete egg against Notre Dame on the road. The Wolfpack still boasts one of the best offenses in the ACC, but if this play continues, their seed line could drop drastically.

No. 7: Cal Bears

Cal was looking to start to get hot going into March riding a three-game win streak going into last weekend, but a bewildering loss to Pitt by 16 at home has put a fork in them. Cal beat SMU during the week in a huge win for the bubble team, but the loss to Pitt may completely end their tourney hopes in all likelihood.

Cal is looking to sneak into the NCAA tournament this season, but they will likely need to win out against Georgia Tech and Wake Forest, and play well in the ACC tournament, to even have a shot at getting in at this point. Their recent level of play has been noteworthy, which is why they are this high this week (besides the Pitt game).
