College football is quickly approaching, and fans across the nation cannot wait for Week 1 to be here. The first week has some major showdowns, kicking the year off in dramatic fashion, and right in the mix of the week 1 chaos is the Louisville Cardinals.
Jeff Brohm and Louisville football will play Ole Miss in a likely top 25 showdown in Nashville, Tenn. Louisville made some major changes this offseason, as they have a new quarterback in Lincoln Kienholz and a lot of new faces on the outside and in their secondary.
The Cardinals are trending as a College Football Playoff sleeper, and with the Cardinals just 65 days away until their Week 1 showdown, Louisville continues to be a team many have their eyes on in the ACC.
Louisville football has the third best odds to win ACC Title
The Cardinals currently have the third-best odds to win the ACC Title in 2026, as Louisville sits behind the dominant favorites, the Miami Hurricanes, and right ahead of them is SMU. The Miami Hurricanes are the clear favorite to win the ACC this upcoming season, as FanDuel gives them -135 odds to win the conference, and then behind Miami is SMU at +700 and Louisville at +750.
After Louisville, the odds soar, with Clemson the next closest at +1600, followed by Virginia at +1700 and Pitt at +1800. So, Louisville is in the hunt for the ACC Title, and FanDuel is confident that as of July, it is likely a three-team race for the ACC crown between Miami, Louisville, and SMU.
The good news for the Cardinals is they don’t play Miami, Clemson, or Virginia this year, and get SMU and Pitt at home. So, the Cards' schedule is very favorable for them to try and win their first ACC Title, and FanDuel is giving Louisville the love it deserves.
Louisville added 32 transfers this offseason, including multiple 4-stars in Lawayne McCoy, Tre Richardson, Brody Foley, Marquise Davis, and a few others. Their offense should be highly explosive as they brought back Isaac Brown and Keyjuan Brown, and Kienholz will be QB1, transferring in from Ohio State.
So, the Cardinals are hunting for that ACC Title, and the first three weeks are massive for the Cards' path to the College Football Playoffs and to Charlotte as they face Ole Miss in Week 1 and SMU in Week 3. It should be an exciting year for the Cardinals fans, and Brohm has this group right in the mix to return to the ACC Championship game.
