Last offseason, one of the Cardinals' biggest additions was a 5-star transfer from Kennesaw State University, Adrian Wooley. The former 5-star transfer had a dominant freshman year, averaging 18.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.4 steals per game at Kennesaw State.

Now, fast-forward to this offseason, Louisville lost nine of its top 10 players from this past season, including all five starters, but the lone Cardinal who returned was Wooley. The combo guard is hoping to take a major jump and be a leader for this group, since he is one of the few Cardinals from the past season to return.

So, with Wooley returning to Louisville and the Cardinals having major expectations heading into the next season, the guard was asked what the biggest difference was between the two rosters. And when looking at the two rosters, Wooley just addressed the elephant in the room and made it clear the Cardinals' frontcourt is looking a lot different and in a good way.

Adrian Wooley sends clear message about Louisville's revamped frontcourt

This offseason, Louisville had to completely rebuild its roster, especially its frontcourt. Last year, the Cardinals' glaring flaw was their frontcourt and their physicality, and when Wooley was asked about what is standing out so far, he made it clear it is the frontcourt.”

“We're different just to the fact that we have a lot of bigger players this year,” stated Wooley. “Everybody has that strive and that hunger that we had last year. We are competing for the same thing, the National Championship.”

And well, Wooley isn’t wrong. The Cardinals' biggest addition was clearly the bigs and their frontcourt. Louisville got a massive upgrade in the frontcourt, landing the No. 1 overall transfer, Flory Bidunga. The 5-star Kansas transfer was one of the best centers in college basketball this past season, averaging 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game.

On top of Bidunga, Louisville added a 5-star 2026 recruit and the No. 1 center in the 2026 cycle, Obinna Ekezie Jr. Bidunga and Ekezie have high expectations from Louisville fans, as both are athletic centers who are elite at protecting the rim.

Other notable bigs Wooley is addressing are 4-star transfer, Alvaro Folgueiras, 4-star transfer Karter Knox, 7-foot-5 Kentucky native Gabe Dynes, and 4-star 2026 recruit Boyuan Zhang. Kelsey made a huge adjustment this offseason, going from a heavy guard roster to landing some elite big men and multiple 5-star centers.

Wooley and the Cardinals have high expectations for this upcoming season, and a large reason is because of these additions in their frontcourt. Louisville is ranked as high as No. 5 overall in the nation in Fox Sports' way-too-early rankings, and has the sixth-highest odds to win the National Title, according to FanDuel.
