Louisville basketball has a massive week ahead as the Cardinals take on the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Indiana Hoosiers. Entering the season, the Cards' next four games have been labeled their most crucial stretch, as Louisville is set to face three top-25 teams in a span of 11 days, all on the road.
The Cardinals have been dominant through their first seven games, including their win over the No. 18 Kentucky Wildcats. But now this four-game stretch gives Louisville a massive opportunity to send a huge message that Pat Kelsey's Louisville Cardinals are a top-five team in the nation.
The Cardinals don't need much more motivation for this four-game stretch, but if they're looking for some, the AP Polls just released its latest rankings, and the Cards' opponent rankings are exactly what Kelsey can use to light a spark in this locker room.

AP Polls just lit a fuse in Louisville ahead massive week
Louisville is ranked No. 6 in the nation for the third straight week after its dominant 104-47 win last week. The Cards didn't jump into the top five despite Houston falling to No. 8 because Michigan jumped Louisville after the Wolverines defeated No. 21 Auburn by 30 points and No. 12 Gonzaga by 40 points last week, boosting them up to No. 3 in the nation.
As for Louisville, they now have a massive opportunity to get into that coveted top five, as they will travel to Fayetteville to take on John Calipari and his No. 25 Razorbacks this Wednesday night. After that crucial ACC vs SEC showdown, Louisville then travels to Indiana to face the No. 22 Hoosiers in the Gainbridge Fieldhouse this Saturday afternoon.
So, while Louisville didn't rise in the rankings again this week, the AP Polls just gave them extra motivation to make a statement in their next couple of games. Louisville has a chance to claim a spot in the top five, but it needs to continue this dominant start and earn two more top 25 victories to do so.
After this massive week, Louisville will face Memphis at home and No. 13 Tennessee on the road, giving them another crucial opportunity to send a message to the nation. December is supposed to feature some thrilling non-conference matchups, and it is good for Cardinals fans and the sport that Louisville is back in the spotlight.
