Louisville football’s spring ball is in full effect right now. The Cardinals have high expectations for next season after landing a top-five Transfer Portal class with 31 commitments, including multiple 4-stars and their 2026 QB1, Lincoln Kienholz.

This offense is expected to be highly explosive and is a key reason why this team is ranked as high as No. 14 in ESPN’s way-too-early rankings. Jeff Brohm found a way to not only bring in multiple 4-star transfers on offense, like in Brody Foley, Tre Richardson, Lawayne McCoy, and Marquise Davis, but he also was able to keep elite running back Isaac Brown.

However, Brown isn’t the only player Brohm was able to recruit back to Louisville, as the Cardinals will also have TreyShun Hurry back on the team, and Brohm has high expectations for him in his second year with the Cards.

TreyShun Hurry stands out early on for Jeff Brohm and Louisville

Louisville’s offense is going to be a nightmare for opposing defenses, and this wide receiver core is a big reason why. While Richardson and McCoy get all of the attention, Brohm was quick to bring up Hurry and mention how big a role he will have next season.

“TreyShun Hurry is coming back, although he didn’t play a lot last year, he played more towards the end, “ Brohm stated on the Cardinals' wide receiver. “He is talented. He is big. He has to be a go-to guy for us, and I think he wants to. He is hungry.”

The Cardinals' wide receiver room is really beginning to take shape, and Brohm speaking up on Hurry is a good sign that the San Jose State transfer is taking that next step the Cardinals need him to take. Hurry originally entered his name into the Transfer Portal after collecting just 15 catches for 122 yards and one touchdown in his first season with Louisville.

But it appears he is trending toward being the Cardinals' WR3 and will play a big part in Louisville’s explosive plays. Hurry saw his production increase when Chris Bell went down against SMU, as Hurry logged three earned a combined six catches for 61 yards and one touchdown in just the final two games.

The Cards will need Hurry to step up and be a big playmaker to help free Richardson and McCoy up, and Brohm is making a case early that Hurry could be a big X-factor next season.
