While all eyes are on the Transfer Portal, Vince Marrow and Jeff Brohm learned they are one step closer to landing a massive commitment from the 2027 recruiting class. Louisville football is in the running for multiple recruits in the 2027 class, but one everyone is keeping an eye on is 4-star sensation Allen Evans.
Not only is Evans a Kentucky native, but he is a Louisville native. The 4-star defensive back recently updated his recruiting process, and the Cardinals fans learned they are in the elite Kentucky native’s top 10. Louisville is expected to be one of the top schools in his recruiting process after Evans earned over 18 offers.
Now, the Cardinals will face powerhouse programs in Alabama, Michigan, Penn State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Georgia Tech, and Kentucky. On Sunday afternoon, Evans announced his top 10 on social media and teased that a decision is coming soon.

Louisville football makes elite 4-star top 10
Evans is a consensus top 100 recruit in the 2027 recruiting class, and ranks as high as No. 39 in the nation, No. 6-ranked cornerback, and is the top-ranked recruit from Kentucky. The Trinity High School phenom is 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, and is now in a heated recruiting battle with SEC and Big 10 giants.
On3 Sports currently gives Louisville the best chance of earning Evans' commitment, with a 25.2 percent chance, followed by Kentucky and Alabama at 22.1 percent and 18.9 percent. Louisville was the first program to extend an offer to the local 4-star, making it in June 2024.
After the Cardinals made their offer in 2024, Louisville earned multiple unofficial visits, including a gameday visit for the season opener against Eastern Kentucky. Evans has also made two unofficial visits to Kentucky and Alabama, and has taken unofficial visits to Penn State, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee.
Louisville fans don’t yet know when the highly anticipated commitment announcement will come, but according to Evans' social media post, the decision is coming soon. In Evans' junior season, he was targeted just 57 times out of 658 snaps. He earned two interceptions while allowing just 93 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
