5. Jerod Smith II | DL | Kentucky

Louisville added five Kentucky transfers in the first week, but the biggest name so far is Jerod Smith. The former 4-star recruit out of Kentucky was a top 100 recruit in the 2024 recruiting class as he ranked No. 89 in the nation. With Vince Marrow now on Louisville's side Marrow was able to land Smith once again but this time for the Cardinals.
He had two productive seasons with Kentucky, logging 27 tackles, five tackles for a loss, a forced fumble, and a sack in the 2025 season. Smith will now be part of Louisville’s dominant defensive line as he ranks as high as No. 277 in the Transfer Portal.
