Brother to Jerod Smith, Jacob Smith also committed to the Cardinals. Like Jerod, Jacob was a 4-star recruit out of high school and a top-100 recruit, ranking No. 97 in the 2024 recruiting class. Both brothers were recruited by elite programs like Notre Dame, Alabama, Louisville, and many others.
Jacob didn’t get much action at Kentucky, but he will provide much-needed depth for the Cardinals' defensive line. Smith didn’t log any stats at Kentucky, but the former 4-star has a bright future with Louisville, as he ranks No. 629 in the portal and No. 48 in the edge rusher position.
