Louisville basketball fans are counting down the days until their first game, as the Cardinals are coming off an eye-popping offseason. Louisville right now has the sixth-highest odds for the 2027 National Title, and when looking at the Cards' additions, a lot of the attention goes to Flory Bidunga.
The Kansas transfer was one of the best rim protectors in the nation this past season, averaging a dominant 2.6 blocks per game. His defensive presence is something Louisville fans are super excited for, but if there is one thing he does need to work on, it is his offensive bag.
Well, earlier this week the Cardinals held an open practice, and Louisville fans got to see Bidunga in action, and the Cardinals fans were happy to see the 5-star center is already looking to improve his jump shot.

When looking at this offseason's Transfer Portal class, it is hard not to include the Cardinals' biggest offseason among the top transfers. Bidunga is coming off an All-Big 12 year with Kansas, where he won the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award and was top five in total blocks and blocks per game in Division I basketball.
However, the one part of his game Kelsey and Louisville fans want to improve on is offense. Well, the Cardinals fans got to see a quick clip of the 6-foot-9 center working on his jump shot, and while it might not be the prettiest form, it shows the center is taking steps to expand his game.

While the Cardinals' 5-star addition is poised for a huge season with Louisville, even Kelsey knows Bidunga needs to make some improvement, and the Cardinals fans are happy to see they are immediatley working on it this offseason. Earlier this offseason, Kelsey talked about Bidunga and his untapped potential, stating there is “another level” to the 5-star's offensive game.
“While there's no doubt that he's one of the best lob threats in the country, we believe there is another level to his game offensively that we're ready to unlock when he steps on campus," stated Kelsey "He is a true, two-way impactful player that we believe is only scratching the surface of his potential, and we're glad he's chosen to be a Louisville Cardinal."
Right now, Bidunga’s biggest strength on offense is his ability to catch a lob. It will be very valuable for Louisville and their offense, but if Kelsey can improve his offensive bag and help him be a bigger offensive threat, that would be massive for Bidunga and his career, and the Cardinals' offense.
It will be interesting to keep an eye on Bidunga’s offensive improvement and his jump shot, and again, while it might not be the prettiest jump shot, it is good to see the center is taking steps to try and expand his game and grow that offensive bag.
