Louisville football and basketball had a massive offseason, with Pat Kelsey and Jeff Brohm each landing a top-five Transfer Portal Class. The two Cardinal programs dominated the Transfer Portal in both sports, and now both teams have a lot of buzz in mid-July.
Of the two programs, Kelsey secured the biggest addition as the Cardinals landed the No. 1 Transfer Portal class after landing the top transfer in the portal, Flory Bidunga. The Kansas transfer is a unanimous 5-star and is ranked as high as No. 1 overall in the portal.
With the Cardinals landing Bidunga, everyone knew the price was going to be jaw-dropping, and On3 Sports broke down the top 10 highest On3 NIL valuations in college sports, and coming in at No. 3 is the newest Cardinal.
Flory Bidunga's NIL valuation is jaw-dropping
Pete Nakos of On3 Sports reported the top 10 NIL valuations in college basketball and football, and Bidunga is right there towards the top of the list. Nakos confirmed that Bidunga's valuation is 6 million, putting him only behind Kentucky’s Milan Momcilovic and Miami’s starting quarterback, Darian Mensah.
"Louisville went on a tear in the college basketball transfer portal, putting together a roster worth nearly $20 million. The crown jewel was Flory Bidunga, a Kansas big man transfer who commanded top dollar on the open market. The Cardinals were willing to pay, landing a player who averaged 13.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game at Kansas last season. The 6-foot-9 Bidunga led the Big 12 in both blocked shots (2.6) and field goal percentage (64.0%)."Pete Nakos

This model is not a projection of Bidunga’s value but is “designed to track athletes’ compensation from colleges/collectives.” So, now that Bidunga is trending as one of the top paid college athletes in both football and basketball, Louisville fans are hoping the 5-star transfer takes them to the promised land.
Bidunga is coming off an All-Big 12 season with Kansas, where he averaged 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game. He made the All-Big 12 First-Team and won the Defensive Player of the Year award in the Big 12 after securing the most blocks in the conference.
Louisville fans are stoked to see the elite 6-foot-9 center in action, and this valuation shows just how good he is. The Cardinals had a dominant portal run, landing six transfer commitments, and Bidunga is the name everyone is talking about.
Six million is jaw-dropping, and it is hard for some fans to even think about, but Bidunga is one of the best rim protectors in the nation, and with the Cardinals fans starving for a Final Four run, the Kansas transfer is worth every penny.
