Louisville basketball lost two players in the transfer portal this offseason. The Cardinals found their guard, Koren Johnson, and starting center, James Scott, who parted ways with the program.

On3 Sports' Pete Nakos just reported that the two former Cardinals will team up again next season, as the Cardinals' former starting center just committed to the Ole Miss Rebels. Scott was one of the best players available in the portal, a 4-star transfer, and will now be teammates with Johnson again, but this time for the SEC program.

Scott played for Pat Kelsey back in Charleston and then transferred to Louisville with the Cardinals' head coach. However, after Louisville found out Kasean Pryor would return, Scott decided to part ways with his head coach and the Cardinals. The two Cardinals now join the Rebels, hoping to be Chris Beard's missing piece.

Scott was emerging as the Auburn Tigers' top target in the portal after he visited Auburn last week. However, after he visited with the Tigers, he made a visit to Ole Miss, quickly sparking rumors that the 4-star transfer was going to rejoin his former Cardinal teammate at Ole Miss.

Scott and Johnson now are teammates again, but this time in Oxford, rather than Louisville. The two Cardinal transfers will look to be a spark for Ole Miss after their impressive 24-12 season. The two 4-star transfer will join Ole Miss after the Rebels secured a spot in the NCAA Tournament's Sweet Sixteen.

Last season, Scott started in 31 games and was an energetic forward who would spark Kelsey and the Cardinals with his high-flying dunks. The 6-foot-11 forward secured 79 dunks for the Cardinals last year, the third-most dunks in Louisville basketball history.

The former Cardinal immediately became a fan favorite. He would spark the crowd with his electric dunks and was a tremendous rim protector for the Cards. Scott averaged 7.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, shooting 75.5 percent from the field.

The Rebels earned a commitment from one of the best dunkers in the nation, and someone who will bring energy to both sides of the floor. Scott scored double digits for Louisville in his lone season 13 times, including four double-double performances. The Louisville Nation will miss him, but the Cards' fans are quickly wishing him the best at his new home
