Former Louisville football star finds new role and is already standing out

Former Louisville football star kicker Brock Travelstead finds a new career as a special teams coach.

Former Louisville football special teams star appears to have hung up the jersey and turned to coaching. Brock Travelstead is an assistant special teams coach for Tennessee Tech, as the University put out a post on social media for the fans to learn more about Travelstead.

The Cardinals' former kicker was one of the best kickers in Louisville history as he went on to etch his name in multiple record books. Travelstead made the No. 7 most field goals in a single season, tied the program's record for most made field goals in a single game, and holds the record for the two longest made field goals.

The former kicker will be a perfect coach for Tennessee Tech, and it is only a matter of time before he gets the nod as the special teams head coach at a big-time program.

Brock Travelstead begins his next journey after historic 2024 season

Travelstead ended his football career going 58/58 on extra points last season, which tied him for the fourth most made extra points in a season, and the third most extra points made while going 100 percent. He went on to crack Louisville's top 10 for most points in a season, after he went 35/49 on field goal attempts in his career, including a school record 56-yard field goal against Notre Dame.

He went on to receive All-ACC honorable mentions for his 2024 season. Travelstead went on to have a spectacular kicking career for Louisville in a short amount of time. He will now transition to coaching, and the Louisville fans know that he will be a great coach after his historic 2024 season.

It is never easy to call it quits on the game you have played your whole career, so Travelstead might have hung up the cleats, but he will still be part of the game he loves.
