The Louisville football program has seen six players enter the spring transfer portal, including one of its top offensive linemen from last season, Austin Collins. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound lineman officially entered the transfer portal on April 16, but it was announced that he was planning to leave head coach Jeff Brohm and company on April 12.
The Cardinals' offensive lineman leaving was a dagger, as he secured the best PFF rating from last year on the Cardinals' offensive line. Last season, he didn't allow any sacks on 311 pass-blocking snaps.
While it was sad to hear Collins leave the Cardinals, Louisville will not forget how good he is, as he will travel up north but will stay in the ACC and play for one of the best passing teams in the nation, the Syracuse Orange.
Former Louisville football star joins 2024’s best passing offense in ACC shake-up
Last season, the Syracuse Orange, led by future 2025 NFL Draft pick Kyle McCord, secured a league-high 4,810 passing yards, averaging 370 passing yards per game. The Orange front line will not get even stronger for their new starting quarterback, as Collins will bring veteran leadership and experience to the Orange offensive line room.

Collins is ranked as a 3-star transfer, as high as the No. 51 best offensive linemen in the portal, and is ranked No. 796 overall per On3 Sports. It will be hard to see Collins in a Syracuse Orange uniform next year, but the Cardinals do not play Syracuse.
Louisville has brought in one transfer in this spring's transfer portal, as Dacari Collins will transfer from North Carolina State and be the Cardinals' new WR3. Brohm and his staff have seen six total players leave Louisville this spring, as the portal will stay open until this Friday, April 25.
