Former Louisville football running back Donald Chaney entered the Transfer Portal earlier today and will now try to find his fourth team in his college career.

Chaney spent just one season with the Cardinals in 2024, but earned the third most carries on the team, and had solid production as the No. 3 or No. 4 running back. He was once a 4-star out of high school and committed to the Miami Hurricanes, where he spent his first four seasons.

Now, he re-enters the Transfer Portal one last time and will transfer from Charlotte, per Pete Nakos.

During his four seasons with Miami, Chaney logged a total of 175 carries for 852 yards and six rushing touchdowns. His best season with Miami was his first and last, as in his true freshman season, he logged 68 carries for 322 yards, and in his final season, he logged a career high of 94 carries for another career high of 478 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

He then entered his name in the Transfer Portal and committed to Jeff Brohm's Cardinals, but was passed by freshman stars Issac Brown, Duke Watson, and Keyjuan Brown, making him only log 50 carries for 178 rushing yards and tying his career high with three rushing touchdowns. He went on to enter the portal again after his lone season with Louisville and committed to Charlotte.

Chaney was one of the top running backs and players in the nation back in the 2020 recruiting class. The 5-foot-10 200 200-pound running back was ranked as high as No. 74 in the class and the No. 5 running back in the cycle. He was a consensus 4-star recruit, but has clearly struggled to see the field during his six years in college football.
