Former Louisville football star Tyler Shough led the Saints to their fifth win of the season. Shough took over the starting position after Spencer Rattler went 1-7 in the first eight games, and since that transition, the Saints are 4-3.

Shough completely flipped the season for the Saints and breathed life into this program. And yesterday, the former Louisville star put on an absolute clinic that not only led the Saints to another victory, but gave Shough his fourth win as a start.

The former Louisville QB now has one of the best odds to win Rookie of the Year after his dominant performance. Shough's ROY odds have soared through the roof after yesterday's win, and Louisville fans are all-in on the former Cards' run.

The AP Rookie of the Year award is now a two-man race, with Shough going head-to-head with the Panthers' Tetairoa McMillan. The former Arizona wide receiver has earned 65 catches for 924 yards and seven receiving touchdowns. At the same time, Shough has 1,792 passing yards on a 66.4 completion percentage, seven passing touchdowns, and 176 completions.

Shough is coming off his best game of the season, in which he threw the most passes, completed the most passes, and recorded the most passing yards in a single game. He led New Orleans to a 29-6 victory after he threw 32-of-49 passes for 308 passing yards and one touchdown. His odds soared to +380 while McMillan has -330, according to FanDuel's odds.

Shough took over the Saints' job when New Orleans was at the bottom of the NFL and 1-7, and now they are 5-10 and on a three-game winning streak. The rookie quarterback has a chance to lead the Saints to a 7-10 record, as New Orleans will face the 3-12 Titans next week and the 6-9 Falcons to end the 2025 season.

Louisville fans have been following Shough all season with the Saints, and now they hope to see their first alumni win the AP Rookie of the Year since Teddy Bridgewater in 2014.
