Mikel Brown Jr. finishes with NBA career-high 18 points
In Brown’s first five games, the former Cardinal has struggled at times, shooting at a high rate. The No. 6 overall pick averaged just three made field goals per game in October, and shot 27% from the field and 29% from beyond the arc in his first four games.
However, the tide is beginning to turn in November. Brown scored 13 points against the Knicks while shooting 38.5% from the field, his career-best. He tied his best by making five field goals, shooting 5-of-13, including one 3-pointer.
Well, Brown elevated last night as the former Cardinal continues to improve, shooting a new career-best 54.5% from the field after going 6-of-11, marking a career high in made field goals in a single game.
Brown finished with 18 points, a career-high in points this season, and a big reason was his 60% shooting from beyond the arc on 3-of-5.

The former Cardinal is continuing to get more and more comfortable at the NBA level, and last night proved it. He stacked the stat sheet, scoring 18 points and adding four assists, three rebounds, one steal, and one block.
Brown was aggressive all night, attacking his defender in multiple ways. The rookie finished at the rim through contact, hit tough fadeaways and step-back 3-pointers, and made a ridiculous no-look pass to Moritz Wagner, who flushed it for two.
Brown’s career night was a big step in the right direction for the rookie, and now he just has to keep improving and find his rhythm. He continues to show his potential this season, and last night offered another glimpse of why he was a top-10 pick in the NBA Draft.
The Nets went on to defeat the Charlotte Hornets 114-104, and Brooklyn improved to 2-6 on the year. Brown and the Nets will try to win their second straight game and third of the season as they face the Atlanta Hawks this Saturday on the road at 7:30 p.m. local time.
