Caullin Lacy probably was hoping for a more productive two seasons with the Cardinals when he transferred to Louisville football back in 2024, but he’s certainly already showing off his potential at the Senior Bowl. The former Cardinal has tremendous upside as a speedy wide receiver with breakaway speed, and he is not just an elite deep-ball threat but also an elite punt returner.
Lacy is the only Cardinal to play in the Senior Bowl this year, making him the 41st Cardinals player to be invited to the Senior Bowl in program history, including seven since Brohm took over in 2023. With Lacy hoping to hear his name called at the 2026 NFL Draft, the former Cardinal has certainly been raising eyebrows early on, as the Senior Bowl is just hours away.

The 2026 Panini Senior Bowl is set to take place tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, Jan. 31, at 2:30 p.m. local time. The event is scheduled to be televised on the NFL Network from inside the Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Ala.
With the Cardinals fans interested in their former wide receiver, the 5-foot-10, 190-pound receiver is already putting on a show at practice in 1-on-1s.

The Cardinals' star receiver is quick off the line and is an elite receiver with short-area quickness. In the clips, Louisville fans will see their former wide receiver run impressive routes and win multiple 1-on-1 scenarios, including one against an Iowa defensive back, where Lacy completely fooled him with a lethal whip route that left him wide open.
Lacy was a key piece for the Cardinals last season as he ranked No. 3 in the nation with 20.0 yards per return and was only one of five players to return at least two punt returns for a touchdown. Lacy earned 60 catches for 635 yards and two touchdowns.
Louisville was high on Lacy when he transferred from South Alabama to the Cardinals, as he had a dominant 2023 season. Before his time with Louisville, he spent four years with the Jaguars, where he caught 208 passes for 2,518 yards and 13 touchdowns. His best two seasons came in 2022, when he logged 65 catches for 813 yards and six touchdowns, and in 2023, when his 91 catches ranked No. 8 in the nation and his 1,316 receiving yards ranked No. 7. He also added a career-high seven receiving touchdowns.
Lacy didn’t have that type of breakout season with Louisville, as he got injured early on in the 2024 season and only played in four full games, and last season, with inconsistency at quarterback and Chris Bell being the Cardinals' WR1, Lacy’s numbers weren’t as good as they were at South Alabama.
That said, Louisville fans loved Lacy during his time with the Cardinals, and it comes as no surprise that the speedy wide receiver is already turning heads at the Senior Bowl.
