Louisville football might not be done just yet this offseason as Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow might look to add a few more players via the Transfer Portal. The Cardinals have currently added 30 players this offseason, 14 defensive players, 14 offensive players, and two special teams players.
Louisville’s offseason is ranked as high as No. 4 in the nation and has been a huge reason why the Cardinals have such high expectations entering the 2026 season. In many way-too-early rankings, Louisville doesn’t just crack the media out, but also the top 25, and ranks in multiple top 15s, including ESPN’s, where they rank No. 14 and the second-highest ACC team.
The portal window is closed, but Miami and Indiana have an extended window, as they recently played in the National Championship. And recently, Miami lost one of its top commitments from the 2025 class to the transfer portal, and Jeff Brohm and Louisville should call him immediatley to try to get him to Louisville.
The newest transfer portal entry is a perfect target for the Louisville Cardinals
One of Miami’s true freshmen, Amari Wallace, recently entered the Transfer Portal following the Hurricanes' loss to Indiana in the National Championship. Wallace is not only a consensus 4-star recruit in the 2025 recruiting class, but he was heavily involved with Jeff Brohm and Louisville.

The Cardinals made Wallace’s final four, where he ultimately committed to Miami over Louisville, LSU, and Auburn. The former 4-star recruit went on to receive over 28 offers from elite programs such as Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, USC, and others.
He had a breakout sophomore year that put him on the map after he earned 44 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and two interceptions. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound defensive back followed that year up with 28 tackles, three interceptions, and one forced fumble. The former Miami commit missed his senior season due to injury.
He went on to take multiple visits to Louisville during his recruiting process as he first took an unofficial visit in the summer of 2023, and another “amazing” unofficial visit in April 2024. He then took an official visit to Louisville in June 2024, but later committed to Miami over the Cardinals after visiting the Hurricanes more than 10 times.
So, with Louisville needing some depth at the cornerback position, Wallace emerges as a perfect target to once again go after. And, looking towards the future, the Cardinals could pair Wallace and an elite 4-star 2027 commitment together in the 2027 season once Evans arrives on campus.
Wallace didn’t log any stats his freshman season, but with him being a former top target of Brohms, Louisville should try to be a top team in his recruiting process once again.
