Louisville basketball is quickly approaching, as the Cardinals just completed their first exhibition game, and sooner rather than later, the fall months are going to be here. Louisville had an eye-popping offseason, adding nine players, including replacing all five starters from this past season.

One position Louisville wanted to go all-in on was the center position, and Kelsey landed one of the most dominant bigs in college basketball, Flory Bidunga. The 5-star transfer has incredible potential, coming off a dominant year with the Jayhawks, but for some reason this offseason, Bidunga has been getting a lot more criticism than many might have thought.

Well, Fox Sports college basketball insider Aaron Torres just sent a loud message to all of Bidunga’s haters, reminding them just how good the 5-star transfer is.

When you are ranked the No. 1 overall transfer in the Transfer Portal, unfortunately, criticism will pop up. For Bidunga, the 5-star transfer is being called overrated quite a bit, despite making the All-Big 12 First Team this past season and winning the Defensive Player of the Year award.

The Field of 68’s Rob Dauster recently stated he doesn’t think Bidunga will be an All-American, and many are criticizing the 5-star's offensive game. Well, Torres has a blunt message for all these Bidunga haters, simply letting them know he was worth every penny and is not overrated.

“This notion that he (Flory Bidunga) is somehow overrated- no, he is not overrated,” stated Aaron Torres. “You pay whatever you have to pay to get Flory Bidunga because the alternative is you get somebody way worse for a little bit cheaper. He is a very good basketball player.”

Bidunga had a dominant exhibition game on Tuesday, recording 18 points, 10 rebounds, six blocks, and four assists. The 5-star transfer quickly silenced the haters, posting a double-double in this exhibition game in the Bahamas, and while it wasn’t against a Division I team, Bidunga was quite impressive.

The Kansas transfer was recruited by the top teams like Duke and Michigan for a reason, and for some reason, Bidunga is getting more criticism than he deserves. Louisville has needed a player who can take over in the paint, and Torres makes it clear that he firmly believes the Cardinals made the right decision and paid the money for one of the top centers in college basketball.

This past season with Kansas, Bidunga averaged the fifth most blocks per game with a dominant 2.6, and secured the fourth most blocks in Division I basketball with an eye-popping 91. The Cardinals fans have been wanting someone with a paint presence like Bidunga, and despite what some national media may think, the 5-star transfer is poised for another dominant season in 2026-27.
