Trinity High School safety Elijah Burns-Crump is still unranked by the recruiting services, but the Class of 2027 Louisville native continues to add offers after his visit to L&N Stadium for the Cardinals’ 51-17 win over Eastern Kentucky in Week 1. Burns-Crump is still awaiting an offer from Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow, but he picked up his eighth offer Tuesday, this one from Northwestern.

Northwestern joined Arizona State, Eastern Kentucky, Kentucky, Memphis, Miami (OH), Toledo, and Vanderbilt as the Division I programs to offer the 6-foot-2, 165-pound safety. Louisville is not yet in the mix, but Burns-Crump attended Louisville camp this summer and hopes to feature in the program’s future plans.

“Overall, I did enjoy the game and really appreciated the invite,” Burns-Crump told Jody Demling of CardinalAuthority, “hopefully I will have developed a better relationship with the coaches and staff in the future.”

Beyond building his relationships with the program in his hometown, Burns-Crump also appears poised to rise up the recruiting rankings through his junior season at Trinity High School. With Power Four offers starting to pile up, he won’t remain an unranked prospect for long.

Trinity is 2-0 so far this season, and Burns-Crump began his junior year with a pick-six in the team’s opener. The Trinity defense has yet to allow a point, outscoring its two opponents 99-0.

Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow still in early stages of 2027 recruiting

Jeff Brohm has been unafraid of building his team through the Transfer Portal since arriving at Louisville from Purdue. His best high school class came in his first cycle with the program, landing the No. 29 class in the country in 2023. Brohm and Marrow’s 2026 class is approaching the top 30 nationally, situated at No. 33 with 22 commits.

As for the 2027 class, Brohm and Marrow have just one commit, three-star quarterback Jack Sorgi from Lizton, Indiana. Sorgi committed back in June, but Louisville has not made much progress around him. Brohm has added a quarterback in every high school class since taking over at his alma mater, but has taken three veterans in their final year of eligibility from the transfer portal to be his starter instead.

Now that the season is underway, recruiting may pick up for the Cardinals with players heading to Louisville for official visits. This Week’s matchup with James Madison is potentially a missed opportunity on the recruiting trail, though, because it is being played on Friday night when most high school players are taking the field themselves. It is the first of two Friday night games for Louisville this season.
