Louisville football is set to take on Florida State Friday evening in what is certainly a must-win game for Jeff Brohm if he wants any chance of returning to the ACC Championship Game. The Cardinals are 2-3 after two straight losses and now have a 1-2 conference record.

Louisville vs Florida State final odds and predictions

Louisville will face Florida State at home in a Friday night showdown, and while the Cardinals got some good news that starting defensive back Koen Entringer is set to play, fans are still anxiously awaiting word on star running back Keyjuan Brown's availability. The running back has remained questionable all week, and On3 Sports Pete Nakos recently reported that Brown will remain questionable and is a game-time decision for Friday night's matchup.

Keyjuan Brown is game-time decision vs Florida State

Louisville’s running back room has been banged up to start the season, as Isaac Brown wasn’t himself early in the year and fought through it, and now, as we enter Week 6, Keyjuan is on the injury report and is a game-time decision.

Keyjuan is one of Brohm’s top playmakers, and the star tailback is coming off an eye-popping junior season with 96 carries for 704 yards and six rushing touchdowns. Brown averaged an impressive 7.3 yards per carry and was dominant in his final five games after rushing for 94 yards or more, including his final three games, where he rushed for 136, 135, and 112 yards.

Now, in 2026, Brown has emerged as Brohm’s top running back. He leads the team in rushing yards with 367 on just 38 carries, third on the team behind Isaac and Lincoln Kienholz. Brown also averages 9.7 yards per carry, leading the team among athletes with over 10 carries this season.

With Keyjuan a game-time decision, Isaac will need another big-time game and step up for the Cardinals. Isaac was a preseason All-American, and the star running back finally broke free last week, rushing for 125 yards, his first game with 100+ rushing yards.  Beyond Isaac and Keyjuan, Brohm has a deep running back room, including Marquise Davis, a 4-star transfer from Missouri. Davis has earned just eight carries this year for 88 yards, 11 yards per carry.

So, the Cardinals have options if Brown isn’t available, but for this must-win showdown against Florida State, Brohm would certainly like to have his star running back.
