Louisville basketball recently dominated NJIT 104-47 in their latest win. The Cards improve to 7-0 and will now turn to Arkansas as these two elite teams will face off on December 3. Louisville will travel to Arkansas to face an old rival in Coach John Calipari.

After the Cards win, Isaac McKneely was one of the two players selected to talk to the media, and the sharpshooter revealed a glaring reason why the Cardinals should be a destination for elite recruits. McKneely finished with 17 points and five three-pointers for the second straight game, and when he was asked about his recent success, he sent a message to elite recruits about why they should come to Louisville.

Isaac McKneely's statement proves why Louisville is a top destination

Louisville struck gold last season with its recruiting, landing 5-star Mikel Brown Jr. and dominating the Transfer Portal, landing McKneely, Ryan Conwell, and Adrian Wooley. McKneely is currently averaging 12.3 points and 3.4 3-pointers per game while shooting an impressive 45.3 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from beyond the arc.

When he was asked how open he has been through seven games, his answer should help sway elite recruits to Louisville, as it shows how good the coaching is there.

"This is the most wide-open shots I’ve gotten in my life," McKneely stated after the game Wednesday night.

The Cardinals' coaching has been phenomenal through seven games. Louisville fans are seeing elite offense as they play fast-paced, no-brakes, and with a ton of spacing. They are playing to their strengths, and Pat Kelsey has made it clear they like to have fun.

Kelsey sent a message to recruits the other week, stating, "Why wouldn't you want to play here?" Now McKneely is backing up Kelsey's point, saying he is getting the easiest shots of his career. McKneely is one of the best 3-point shooters in the nation, and he is receiving the best looks he has ever seen in his final season because of Kelsey's style of play.

When an elite recruit, whether he is from the Transfer Portal or out of high school, is looking at where to play, he is going to see a fast offense that creates open looks for everyone on the floor. Kelsey has quickly proved in his two seasons that Louisville is one of the top destinations for elite guards, and McKneely's statement backs that up.

McKneely's statement should open recruits' eyes and make them think more about Louisville. The Cardinals' 2025-26 season is proving why these 4-stars and 5-stars should consider the Louisville Cardinals, and McKneely is proving why Kelsey is one of the best coaches to play for in college basketball.
