Louisville football is looking to stay red hot in the 2027 recruiting class as the Cardinals got out to a hot start after landing seven commitments before spring. Louisville’s 2027 recruiting class is led by Allen Evans, the state’s No. 1 recruit who ranks as a consensus 4-star and the No. 39 overall recruit in the 2027 recruiting class.

Behind Evans are three more 4-stars, including quarterback Jack Sorgi, who was the first to commit in the 2027 recruiting class. Now, the Cardinals are trending in the right direction with a couple of more 4-stars, including an in-state 4-star, Jordan Haskins. The Cardinals recently received an expert prediction for Haskins, and On3 Sports updated his profile to a dominant 96% chance of committing to Louisville.

Now, another 4-star the Cardinals are trending with is a dominant defensive lineman who turned heads at the Rivals Miami Elite Camp over the weekend, Maleek Lee.

The Florida native is a 4-star recruit from Booker High School in Sarasota, Fla. On3 Sports/Rivals reported Louisville has made a "lasting impression” on Lee’s recruiting process, as they are one of three teams in his recruiting battle. Right now, it appears to be a three-headed race for Lee, as the Cardinals are battling it out with the Florida Gators and Ohio State.

The Florida Gators recently hosted him for a visit and are thought to be in the lead for Lee after this update, but the Cardinals are still fully in the race as of right now. The 4-star defensive lineman ranks as high as No. 357 overall, No. 40 among defensive linemen, and No. 37 from the state of Florida.

The dominant 6-foot-3, 270-pound defensive lineman has logged an impressive 26 offers already, including from Power Four programs like Miami, Penn State, Nebraska, Kentucky, and the three schools fighting at the top, Louisville, Ohio State, and Florida. Some more good news for Louisville fans is that the Cardinals were the first program to extend an offer to Lee, which could be a key note down the line as we get closer to his decision.

Lee had an impressive junior season last year after he logged 50 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and one interception for Booker High School. The Cardinals are looking to earn their first top-15 class in a long time, and Lee would be a massive addition to this 2027 class.

Louisville’s seven commitments have them ranked as high as No. 7 in 247 Sports' 2027 recruiting rankings, and with the Cardinals hoping to hear good news from Haskins and Lee, it shows Brohm and Marrow aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
