Louisville football has an absolute star in the making, and his name is Lincoln Kienholz. The Cardinals have gone to the Transfer Portal for four straight years since Jeff Brohm took over, including Kienholz.

The former 4-star recruit transferred to Louisville after spending his first three years at Ohio State. In those three seasons, the 4-star transfer threw the ball only 36 times, and all Louisville fans really knew about him was that he challenged 5-star QB and Heisman candidate Julian Sayin for a starting spot.
So, the Cardinals fans didn’t know much about their starting quarterback, but they knew he had a high ceiling. And after two games, he's exceeded all expectations and is now getting the flowers he deserves.
ACC Network gives Lincoln Kienholz high praise before SMU showdown
Kienholz has been dominant through two games. It took him a little bit to find his rhythm in the first game, but the 4-star transfer took over in the second half against Ole Miss and carried that into his second game against Villanova.
He has already etched his name into Louisville history books in multiple categories, and now ACC Network’s Tom Luginbill is saying the quiet part out loud that Kienholz is the most dangerous QB Brohm has had.
“I am going to go so far and say, I think this is the most dangerous quarterback that Jeff Brohm has ever coached during his time as a college coach,” stated Luginbill. “I didn’t really know what to expect going into this year because it deviated so much from what their plan has been previously.”
It is certainly a bold comment, but he has a very fair point. Since Brohm has arrived at Louisville, it is definitley true. The upside on Kienholz is certainly higher than the previous three quarterbacks, and that is clear as day.
Kienholz was the first Louisville quarterback to throw for 275 yards, two touchdowns, and rush for two touchdowns in one half since Lamar Jackson in 2016. And whenever you are the first QB to do something since Jackson, you are trending in the right direction. Keinholz was also the first Cardinal to throw for 300 yards or more in his debut.
So, this Ohio State transfer is not only living up to his 4-star potential, but Luginbill is out here making it clear he might be the best quarterback Brohm has ever coached in college. Right now, Kienholz ranks No. 4 in the league with a 91.7 QBR, ranks in the top 35 with four passing touchdowns, and ranks No. 16 with 639 passing yards. On top of those impressive stats, he is taking care of the ball, with zero turnovers through the first two games.
But what has everyone’s attention is his legs. He can not only run, as he has 111 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns, but he can also throw on the run. Louisville fans have already seen Kienholz roll to his right, throw on the run, and extend the drive multiple times.
Kienholz is looking like a star through the first two games, and now the hope is that he can guide the Cards to their first CFP. Brohm is known as one of the best quarterback developers, and it appears he has landed maybe his best QB yet with Kienholz.
