Louisville football was off to a hot start against the Miami Hurricanes. The Cardinals just played their best half of the season, and a lot has to do with their head coach, Jeff Brohm. The Cards' head coach is calling plays with a chip on his shoulder and is outcoaching Miami's Mario Cristobal through the first half.

The Cardinals were 12.5-point underdogs entering this game, and after the first half, they led 14-10. The Louisville fans were outraged with the Cardinals' underwhelming performance against Virginia and demanded a better performance tonight against Miami, and it is clear Brohm made sure to have his team ready for this ACC clash.

Louisville's game plan was to force turnovers on defense and get the ball out quickly from Miller Moss to open up the run game. Well, through the first half, the Cardinals set themselves up for a massive upset, and Louisville basketball legend is all-in on Brohm and this Cardinals offense.

Donovan Mitchell gives Jeff Brohm and Chris Bell high praise

Donovan Mitchell has stayed loyal to the Cardinals through the years and has made multiple returns to the University. He has helped the basketball team recruit, while also sending his support to the entire athletics program, especially football.

After Louisville utilized three quarterbacks on the first drive, ran a fake field goal, and scored a touchdown, it is safe to say Mitchell was quite impressed with Brohm and his playcalling.

Following Louisville's wild 7-0 start, the Cards forced a three-and-out, and then got excellent field position after Caullin Lacy returned it for 16 yards to Miami's 46-yard line. With all the momentum on Louisville's side, Brohm continued to get the ball out of Moss's hand quickly, and Moss found star wide receiver Chris Bell on a slant route, which went for 35 yards and a touchdown, making the Cardinals start lightning fast and go up 14-0 on the No. 2 team in the nation.

The Hurricanes did find the endzone and made it a one-score game, but after Miami scored, this Louisville defense came alive and forced back-to-back interceptions on Beck. The Georgia transfer had just three interceptions entering this game, but in the second quarter alone, this electrifying Cardinals defense forced two interceptions.

The Cardinals' offense wasn't able to capitalize and score any points off those two turnovers, but if the Cardinals fans were told they were going to force two interceptions on Beck and be up 14-10 at halftime, then every Louisville fan would be happy with that.

Brohm entered this game with the most ACC wins among all ACC coaches since 2023, and after the first half, he is proving why he is one of the best coaches not just in the conference but in the entire league.
