Louisville football injuries continue to get worse and worse as the Cardinals have now learned that they will be without another star offensive player. Jeff Brohm held his weekly press conference this morning, previewing the Cardinals' matchup with their in-state rival, the Kentucky Wildcats.

Entering this press conference, all the fans were wondering whether Isaac Brown, Keyjuan Brown, and Miller Moss would be available, but when he was asked about injuries and who would be available, he dealt a crushing blow to the Cards' passing game by stating that Chris Bell is ruled out for this weekend.

Chris Bell ruled out against Kentucky

Bell was injured last weekend when the Cardinals lost to SMU in the third quarter. Bell played through the injury last weekend, but Brohm confirmed he is going to be out for the final regular-season game.

Bell is one of the Cardinals' best players on this roster as he has been nothing but dominant through 12 weeks of football. The preseason All-ACC receiver has logged 72 catches for 917 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns.

Bell had a dominant three-game stretch, during which the 6-foot-2, 225-pound wide receiver totaled 441 receiving yards and five touchdowns. He is now in the running for the 2025 Biletnikoff Award and is likely a first-round draft pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Cards were down Isaac Brown, Keyjuan Brown, and Miller Moss last weekend, and Brohm gave no update on those three players or whether they will play. The Cardinals' crushing injuries are becoming the story of this season, as Louisville was 7-1 and had a massive win over Miami, where Moss, Isaac Brown, and Bell all played one of their best games of the season and took down the No. 2 team in the nation at the time on the road.

But since Brown's injury, the Cards are 0-3, and now the Cards' Biletnikoff Award semifinalist is out for the last game of the season in the Battle of the Bluegrass against the Cats. Louisville is 7-4 entering their showdown against Kentucky, in which they are 3.5-point favorites as of now.

Bell being out for the game is a massive blow to this passing game, which is already banged up with Moss and two-star running backs potentially out.
