Louisville football is emerging as a legitimate College Football Playoff contender after Week 10 chaos, but the Cardinals' fans just got crushing news following their win over Virginia Tech. Louisville fans saw Isaac Brown go down at the 5:47 mark in the fourth quarter in what looked like a non-contact injury.

After that moment, Brown was sidelined for the remainder of the game, and the fans began to worry about his health as the Cards went on to defeat the Hokies 28-16. Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm addressed Brown's injury, and the Cardinals' fans received gut-wrenching news.

"Isaac will be out for a while," Brohm stated in his press conference this morning. "He will not be available for this game."

Brown finished the game rushing for 126 rushing yards and a touchdown, marking his fifth game with 100 rushing yards or more, and his third straight game with 100 rushing yards or more. The last player to run for 100 yards or more in three consecutive games was Lamar Jackson.

Now that Louisville is trending to be one of the top picks for the ACC, they may have to try to win out or at least win a couple of games without their best player. The Cardinals fans don't know how long he will be out, but Brohm's statement certainly suggests he will be questionable or might even miss the showdown against Clemson on Nov. 15.

Brohm provided an update on Duke Watson, stating, "We are working to get him back," and that they are "hopeful" he will be able to play this week. Louisville's rushing attack has seen a star emerge with Watson's absence, as Keyjuan Brown has stepped up and shown he can be a star as well.

Isaac Brown has rushed for 782 yards on 91 carries, which is 8.6 yards per carry. His rushing yards rank No. 18 in the nation, while his yards per carry are No. 1 in the country. Brohm's update crushes Louisville fans, and they fear the worst that their star might be out for multiple games. The big one to keep an eye on is Louisville vs. SMU in Dallas on November 22. With the Cardinals eyeing history and trying to win their first ACC Title and make their first CFP, Brown's availability will be crucial.
