Louisville football and Jeff Brohm are beginning to cook as the Cardinals just landed their third commitment from this year's Transfer Portal. Louisville recently learned that star running back Isaac Brown will return to the program late Sunday night, and now joining him in the running back room is elite former 4-star Missouri commit Marquise Davis.
The Cardinals' running back room took some hits from the portal as they lost key backups in Duke Watson and Shaun Boykins Jr., but now Brohm has just landed another rising star. The Missouri transfer is a true freshman and will look to play a key role in the Cardinals' offense his sophomore season, behind Brown.

Louisville football adds depth to RB room
The true freshman was an elite 2025 recruit, ranking as a 4-star prospect from Cleveland, Ohio. He ranked as high as No. 162 in the nation, the 11th-best running back in the class, and the 11th-best recruit out of Ohio. He was a top target for many big-time programs, earning over 31 offers, including from Florida, Indiana, Penn State, Notre Dame, and others.
He was a former Cardinals target as Louisville also extended an offer to Davis, but he never earned a visit. It is also worth noting that he was a former Kentucky commit before flipping his commitment to Missouri. In his junior and senior years, he was dominant, logging over 3,800 rushing yards and 58 touchdowns, and earning the 2023 Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Ohio.
He will transfer to Louisville after one season at Missouri. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound running back earned 30 carries in four games his freshman season and logged 200 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns, while averaging 5.4 rushing yards per carry. He was ranked No. 154 in the portal and the 15th-best running back, according to On3 Sports.
The Cardinals will now be led by Isaac Brown and Davis in the running back room, and fans will wait to see if Keyjuan Brown returns. Louisville’s running back room is loaded with talent as also in the room is walk-on Braxton Jennings, who won the Howard Schnellenberger MVP, and incoming true freshman Lekhy Thompkins.
