Louisville football has a relatively manageable schedule this upcoming season, and it is one of the key reasons many believe they can compete with Miami and Clemson for the ACC Title. The Cardinals will have a gauntlet of games in Miami, Clemson, and SMU, but outside of those three, Louisville is sitting pretty.

The Cardinals have had those three games circled on their calendars for a long time now, but something that has to be brought up as well is the Cardinals' unfortunate bye weeks. Louisville will have both of its bye weeks in the first seven weeks of the game, making it have to play seven straight games, including all three of the matchups listed above.

Brohm was asked how he plans to attack the schedule he was given, but he noted a few times that the biggest thing is to have a plan, but they must be able to make adjustments.

Jeff Brohm reveals his strategy to keep Louisville healthy

Last season, the Cardinals' bye weeks came at week 3 and week 11, giving the team much-needed rest in the back half of the season. This year, Louisville will have its bye weeks in week 3 and week 7, and it will force Brohm to make sure his team can stay healthy in the back half and have his best players on the field.

When Brohm was asked about the bye weeks in the 2025 season, the Cardinals head coach made sure to emphasize that they must make adjustments and they must stay healthy.

"It is important that our best players are healthy and that they are healthy as long as we can keep them that way," Brohm stated during his media availability at ACC Media Days on Wednesday. "If we happen to lose a few we got to be able to respond and the others have to step up but we want to do our part as coaches and have a plan."

Its highly explosive offense will lead Louisville, and the team hopes the core can stay healthy. Caullin Lacy will return from a leg injury last season, and will be joined by Chris Bell. Louisville's offense is, of course, led by Miller Moss and Isaac Brown, and it will be crucial to protect them and keep them healthy if they want a shot at the ACC Title.

Brohm made sure to tell the nation that Louisville will be smart with its practices and avoid overexertion. He wants the best players out on the field on Saturday, and the coaching staff is willing to adjust and be strategic with everything.

"We are going to adjust, and we are going to make sure that everything is being done to get guys healthy, to keep them healthy throughout the entire year." Brohm stated, "I think we are very strategic in planning and making sure practices are set up to get the work in, but to get to the game healthy."

If the Cardinals want a shot at history and to earn their first ACC Title, then they must stay healthy. Brohm is emerging as one of the smartest coaches in college football, as he is winning big-time games against elite programs with way less talent.

Louisville is in good hands with Brohm, and it is clear the bye weeks that early in the schedule could cause a problem down the line, but as of now, the plan for Brohm and his staff is to just stay healthy and if something changes, then to make adjustments.
