The College Football Playoffs kicked off last night, and fans across the nation saw Alabama rattle off 24 unanswered points, leading to their 34-24 victory. The second set of games for the first round is taking place this evening and this afternoon, and while Louisville football isn't in the playoffs, they certainly are being talked about.
At the end of the season, breaking news shocked the nation after Michigan fired Sheronne Moore. This season has seen multiple powerhouse programs fire their coaches, and in the 2025 coaching carousel, one name linked to nearly every program is Jeff Brohm.
With Michigan now in search of a new head coach, it's no surprise the media is trying to push Brohm to Michigan now, and the latest to do so is Joel Klatt.
Of course Joel Klatt has linked Jeff Brohm to the open Michigan job
Klatt is a well-known college football analyst and announcer for Fox. He has his own College Football show, "The Joel Klatt Show: A College Football Podcast," and is often on Colin Cowherd's show. Well, in a recent episode of Cowherd's show, Klatt was naming his coaches who could be the next Michigan coach, and, of course, Brohm was listed.
"The other name that I would be looking out for is Jeff Brohm," Klatt said. "He is at Louisville, which is his alma mater, but Jeff Brohm is a winner, and he has done a nice job, but Michigan is Michigan. I know he is at his alma mater, but Michigan is one of the premier jobs in the country."
Fox Sports Joel Klatt believes Jeff Brohm is still at play in the Michigan coaching search.

Brohm has already been linked to several jobs, including Florida, LSU, and Penn State. This shouldn't be a surprise to Louisville fans to hear their head coach connected to the Michigan job search, but after he turned down Florida, he is working on not only a contract extension with his alma mater but also next year's roster.
Brohm has already contacted Dylan Raiola and DJ Lagway and is putting the Cardinals in a good position to be a legit target for these top transfer quarterbacks. It is hard to imagine Brohm is leaving Louisville after just three seasons, and with him working on a contract extension with the Cards, it feels like he isn't going anywhere anytime soon, even to Michigan.
Klatt also didn't provide any real evidence that would make Louisville fans nervous. All he stated was "Michigan is Michigan." Brohm is from Louisville, played for Louisville, and clearly wants to stay at Louisville. So, for right now, Louisville fans should brush this rumor off.
