Earlier this month, the two-time All-Pro defensive back and former Louisville football star, Jaire Alexander, was released from the Green Bay Packers. The former Cardinal was shockingly released, causing many NFL teams to reach out and try to add this elite defensive back to their secondary.

Alexander was trending towards many teams, but Ravens' social media just announced that the former Cardinal will now join a former teammate, Lamar Jackson, on the Baltimore Ravens. Alexander agreed to a one-year deal for $6 million, according to multiple reports.

Jackson stated before the signing that he wanted the Ravens to acquire his former teammate, as they are still extremely close. The Ravens reunited the former Cardinal stars and now have an elite secondary with Alexander and Kyle Hamilton.

Alexander and Jackson were once teammates at the University of Louisville from 2015 to 2017. During those three years, the Cardinals had a 25-14 record, including a 9-4 season when they were ranked No. 3 in the country for a point of the season.

Jackson went on to win the Heisman Trophy while they were teammates, and Alexander was a Second-Team All-ACC selection, later becoming the No. 18 overall pick in the NFL Draft. Alexander missed 32 games over the last four seasons and played only 361 snaps last season. However, Jackson knows how elite this cornerback is, and he told the Ravens to get him, which they did.

"Go get him, Eric," Jackson stated. "I love all our corners, don't get me wrong. But go get him, Eric."

Jackson and Alexander's reuniting brings joy to all Louisville football fans, as it is always fun to see former Cardinals team up and reunite in the NFL. Alexander is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL when he is healthy, as he has secured 287 tackles, 12 interceptions, and 70 pass deflections in his seven years with Green Bay.
