Louisville basketball fans are anxiously counting down the days until September 28, when 5-star point guard and Kentucky native Taylen Kinney announces his highly anticipated commitment.
The Cardinals have gone all-in on this 5-star point guard and have made it clear to the nation that this is their guy and they want him badly. Louisville was the dominant favorite for a long time after he took an official visit in June, but Kinney recently visited Kansas, and now the Cardinals fans are learning he is slowly leaning more and more toward the Jayhawks.
Well, as we are now just about two weeks out of his commitment date, Louisville fans realized something on Kinney's social media page that hints at a big worry for Louisville when September 28 comes around.
Latest Taylen Kinney update is big worry for Louisville's efforts to land 5-star PG
The Jayhawks recently earned Rivals Joe Tipton's updated projection as the recruiting expert logged an unofficial prediction and stated he believes now Kansas is in the lead. While that update alone was crushing, Louisville fans and experts quickly realized that on Kinney's Instagram, he is following just one school that is included in his six finalists, and it is indeed the reportedly new frontrunner, the Kansas Jayhawks.

While this may seem far-fetched to some, it actually is a big worry for the Cardinals fans. The 5-star point guard is following just one program after a visit, and with all signs now leading towards him committing to Kansas, Louisville may need to accept he might be a Jayhawk soon.
If the Cardinals do strike out on Kinney, it would be a massive blow to Louisville's 2026 class wish list, and Kelsey would have to make sure to go all-in on Tyran Stokes and Deron Rippey Jr. However, before jumping to conclusions, Louisville still has a couple of weeks to try and earn his commitment, and Kelsey started earlier this week when he took his second in-house visit to Kinney.
The Cardinals fans are holding their breath as the date gets closer, but they are also starting to accept reality and that there is a good chance he might actually commit to Kansas over Louisville.
