Louisville basketball has one obvious No. 1 target at the moment as the massive news broke late last night that Milan Momcilovic withdrew his name from the NBA draft and is now the top transfer available in the portal.

Milan Momcilovic Update: Latest news boosts Pat Kelsey's chances of landing 5-star PF

Momcilovic ranks No. 2 overall in the Transfer Portal, and leading up to the decision, Louisville, Kentucky, St. John’s, and Arizona were reported to be the top four teams in the mix for the 5-star. However, earlier this morning, it was reported that St. John’s is moving on from the 5-star, making the race down to three.

Now, late this morning, college basketball expert Matt Norlander went on the CBS Sports YouTube Channel, and he made his Momcilovic prediction, and it has Louisville fans praying he is wrong.

Louisville basketball gets crushing Milan Momcilovic prediction

Norlander made it clear he thinks the race is between Louisville, Kentucky, and Arizona, with Arizona a “distant” third. He then went on to make his prediction, and well, Louisville fans won’t like what he predicted.

“My prediction right now is that Milan Momcilovic will go to Kentucky,” Norlander stated earlier this morning on CBS Sports College Basketball. “My understanding is that the decision is going to come in the next one, two, three, or four days at max.”

Norlander stated he thinks Momcilovic will have his decision made before Monday, and as of right now, his “forecast is that it’s Kentucky”. Louisville was once named the frontrunner by Jeff Goodman a couple of weeks ago, but now the Cardinals are getting a crushing prediction hours following his NBA draft decision.

It won’t be easy to beat Kentucky in this recruiting battle, as the Wildcats have a lot of NIL money available after missing on multiple recruits, including Tyran Stokes. But the Cardinals have a Final Four-contending roster at the moment, and if Momcilovic wants to win a National Title, the Cardinals would be the better destination.

With Norlander stating Momcilovic’s decision is likely to come sooner rather than later, Kelsey has some work to do if he wants to try and crush Mark Pope’s and Kentucky’s dreams. The Cardinals need a 3-point specialist on their roster, and Momcilovic is the best 3-point shooter in college basketball.

He would flourish with the roster Kelsey has built and the playstyle Kelsey plays with, but it appears the two in-state rivals are going to battle it out for the 5-star power forward.
