Louisville basketball secured its 17th ACC victory last night, which means Pat Kelsey and his Cardinals broke yet another program record.

The Cardinals dominated Cal in an 85-68 victory Wednesday night and secured another double-digit victory. They have now won eight straight and 18 of their last 19. Terrence Edwards Jr. led the Cardinals to their historic victory, scoring a career-high 35 points and making seven threes.

Head coach Pat Kelsey recently broke the record for the program's biggest turnaround in Cardinals history, then shattered Louisville's record for the most wins against ACC teams in a single season, and now he has set the record for the most conference wins in a season.

The Cardinals' record in conference play was 16 wins, and UofL tied that record in their last win against Pitt. However, after Louisville basketball's 27-point win over Cal, the program's historic program now has a new conference record in the regular season.

This 18-year-old record was set in the 2008-2009 season, when Louisville was in the Big East. Louisville secured a 31-6 overall record, 16-2 in the Big East, and earned the Big East regular season title and Big East Tournament title.

The Cardinals seem to have sacrificed their past few seasons. Louisville had just 12 wins in the last two seasons combined, but they are breaking record after record this season. Pat Kelsey is shining bright and leading this program to the promised land.

The Cardinals conference record also marks a winning percentage of .895, which means it is the highest winning percentage since they were playing in the Metro Conference back in the 1992-1993 season, and went just 11-1, with a winning-percentage of .917.

Louisville basketball is 17-2 in the ACC play this year and has one game left to break this historic record even more. Pat Kelsey has done a tremendous job with this team and continues to make this program one of the best in the nation. Cardinals are projected to be the No. 2 seed in the ACC Tournament, and a No. 6 seed in March Madness.

Louisville's last regular season game is this Saturday against Stanford, who is projected to be the No.7 seed in the ACC Tournament, a potential team Louisville sees later in the postseason.
