Louisville basketball has been all-in on the 2026 class, as Pat Kelsey recently attended the NBPA Top 100 camp, which primarily showcased the 2026 cycle. Kelsey was impressed with many 5-star recruits from the 2026 cycle, and Louisville fans are hoping they can land some crucial commitments shortly.
However, Kelsey appears to be eyeing the future further as well, having just recently made an offer to a 5-star phenom in the 2027 cycle, Obinna Ekezie Jr.

The 7-foot, 220-pound center is ranked as high as No. 6 in the 2027 cycle and the best center and Californian in the class. Ekezie is the son of former Maryland star Obinna Ekezie, who went on to be the No. 37 pick in the 1999 NBA Draft.
The game-changing center averaged 7.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game while shooting 40 percent from the field in 16.3 minutes. The future is exceptionally bright for this kid, and Kelsey is going to have a challenge trying to land his commitment. If Louisville has a chance to land Ekezie's commitment, it would be a sign that the Cardinals are one of the nation's top recruiting programs and are poised for a dominant recruiting class.
