The Louisville Cardinals are still not done with the transfer portal, as they continue to contact players to fill the remaining few spots. Recently, the Cardinals discovered that their starting center, James Scott, will enter the transfer portal, making the Cardinals go back into recruit mode and try and find a replacement.
Kelsey and his staff are quickly trying to replace Scott, but in recent news, the Cardinals are apparently in contact with one of the best combo guards available. The Cardinals have already landed three commitments from guards this offseason and will bring in 5-star commit Mikel Brown Jr.
The Cardinals aim to bolster their roster and recruit for the future, as they are now in contact with Travis Perry, a four-star freshman transfer and former four-star commitment to the Kentucky Wildcats.

Louisville basketball making moves to land 4-Star Kentucky phenom
Joe Tipton of On3 Sports reported that the Cardinals are one of 12 teams to reach out to the 4-star phenom, as Kelsey and the Cardinals are in an early battle with Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia, and others.
The freshman out of Eddyville, Ky., was a four-star commit to the Wildcats in the class of 2024. He was ranked as the No. 7 point guard in the class and the No. 78 overall player. He was the best player out of Kentucky, as in high school, he had one of the best careers in history.
Perry etched his name in the history books after scoring the seventh-most points all-time in the nation with 5,481 career points. The 6-foot-1 point guard is the only player out of the state of Kentucky to score 5,000 points, and he ranks No. 2 for all-time with his 712 made 3-pointers during his high school career. The Lyon County High School graduate is also ranked No. 2 all-time in career-made field goals with his astounding 1,918 made shots.
Perry was one of the best high school players in Kentucky's history. He ranks No. 1 in five stats and averaged an impressive 32.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 4.7 steals per game as a senior. He went on to be a two-time Gatorade State Player of the Year after scoring 10 points or more in 196 of his 201 high school games.
Kentucky transfer guard Travis Perry has received interest from the following schools since entering the portal, per his agent Nate Conley:

The Kentucky transfer didn't see much time in his freshman season, as he averaged 2.7 points and 9.7 minutes per game. He scored in double figures twice last season, both against Alabama, with his career-high 12-point performance.
The Cardinals are trying to swipe this elite 4-star transfer from their in-state rival, and it would be a great addition to the Cardinals' already elite backcourt. Perry is ranked as the No. 4 best guard available and the No. 23 best combo guard to enter the portal.

Perry's potential and ceiling are incredibly high. He would be an excellent point guard in the future, and the fact that he would transfer from Kentucky makes this possibility even sweeter.
