The Transfer Portal chaos is here, and Louisville basketball is right in the mix. The Cardinals hosted two top-ten transfers on a visit on Friday, including the nation’s No. 1 overall transfer, Flory Bidunga. The Cardinals emerged as the favorite to land Bidunga when Louisville earned a prediction from On3 Sports.
ACC rival emerging as major threat to land Flory Bidunga over the Louisville Cardinals
On3 Sports gave Louisville a 100 percent chance of landing his commitment, as at the time, they were the only team to earn a visit. However, the 5-star transfer scheduled a visit with Duke on Sunday, and now, On3 Sports has updated its prediction, and Louisville is no longer the favorite.
Louisville basketball falling behind with Flory Bidunga
Bidunga is ranked No. 1 among centers in the Transfer Portal and the No. 1 overall transfer in the portal. The Kansas transfer would be the dream addition to what Louisville fans are begging Pat Kelsey to get this offseason, and with the news breaking that Duke will earn a visit, Louisville fans are quickly worrying about the Blue Devils as their biggest threat to land Bidunga.
On3 Sports gave the Cards fan a crushing update once the news broke that Bidunga will visit Duke on Sunday, as Duke is now the favorite to land the No. 1 transfer. Duke now has a 53.3 percent chance of landing Bidunga, and the Cardinals' chances dropped from 100 to 46.7 percent.
The Cards hosted Bidunga and Jackson Shelstad on a visit on Friday, and both share the same agent. Louisville fans are hoping the Cards can land both targets, as they earned a Crystal Ball prediction from 247Sports for Shelstad. Louisville is still in the hunt for Bidunga, but Duke landing a visit is not a good sign for the Cardinals, and On3 Sports putting Duke as the favorite is very worrisome for Louisville fans.
The 5-star transfer logged 91 blocks and averaged 2.6 blocks per game, both ranking in the top five in Division I basketball. Bidunga averaged 13.3 points per game while shooting 64 percent from the field and scored 20 or more points in five games. He is the dominant two-way center Louisville has needed, and the fans are begging for, but now it appears their ACC rival is emerging as a major threat and is now the new favorite with their visit Sunday.
